What to Wear This Fall: Zimmermann’s Formula for a Wear To Stare Moment
Rich color, bold texture, and effortless sex appeal; the Fall 2026 collection inspiring my seasonal style mood board.
Fall Trend Series | No. 1
I’m kicking off my Wear To Stare fall series with a few designers whose Fall/Winter 2026 collections deserve our attention.
First up: Zimmermann. And this collection has me ready to dress for the season!
Color, texture, structure, femininity, sex appeal, and style; Zimmermann brought them together so effortlessly. There’s confidence in the way these looks are styled. The layers have personality. The silhouettes have presence. Even the softest pieces give you something to stare at.
For those of us who love getting in front of trends, creating fashion content, and making a moment out of getting dressed, this collection belongs on the mood board. I can already see the movement shots, the close-ups, and the street-style moments. The clothes give you plenty to work with.
What’s Going on My Fall Mood Board
Color with depth. Mustard, olive, chocolate, burgundy, and creamy ivory make this collection feel rich. I love the way the colors carry a look on their own, then become even more interesting through unexpected pairings and prints.
Texture that deserves a close-up. Plush collars, lace, fluid fabrics, and substantial outerwear give the styling dimension. This is a reminder to think beyond the individual garment and consider how everything feels together.
Structure with sex appeal. A defined waist, a strong jacket, a plunging neckline, a glimpse of skin; the balance is beautiful. The femininity feels assured, and the tailoring gives it strength.
Prints with personality. The scarf-inspired patterns and asymmetric draping are some of my favorite elements. There’s movement, color, and enough visual interest to make an entrance before you say a word.
My Wear To Stare Picks
Look 1 | Golden and sculpted
The golden tone, gathered fabric, and waist cutout are such a beautiful combination. I love how the dress hugs the body, then opens into that flowing, asymmetric hem. This is a look you need to capture in motion.
Look 2 | Layers with attitude
The oversized plush wrap over the dark jacket, paired with that colorful scarf-print skirt, has so much personality. Every layer adds something. This is how you make fall styling feel adventurous.
Look 3 | The details make it
The textured collar, olive sleeves, golden center, and pale lace skirt give this look such a beautiful mix of finishes. This is one to study closely. There’s a styling idea in every layer.
Look 4 | Romance with an edge
The dark, plush wrap against that light, printed skirt is what draws me in. Then you notice the lace and the way the fabric falls. The wrap gives the softness a little attitude, and I love that.
Look 1 | Denim Worth Staring At
Now this is how I want to wear denim this fall! The oversized collar, wide belt, and cropped silhouette give it such a strong shape. Add the printed layers, mustard socks, and glossy loafers, and even the smallest details have personality.
Look 2 | Mustard Is Making a Statement
Everyone, check in to this color combination! Mustard, olive, brown, and burgundy come together so beautifully here. I especially love the printed shirt peeking out beneath the belted jacket. Let your layers show this fall; they’re part of the moment.
Look 3 | Utility Meets Sex Appeal
The sculpted waist, caramel tone, and long, flared leg already had my attention. Then came the plush coat falling off the shoulders! This is utility dressing with confidence and femininity. Take note for fall: define the waist and let your outerwear bring the drama.
Look 4 | Cozy, With Main Character Energy
Comfort can absolutely command attention. The cream cable knit, dramatic balloon trousers, and plush dark coat make this look feel relaxed and luxurious all at once. I love the burgundy and navy neckline; that little touch brings the whole look together.
Look 1 | Golden lace, full impact
The golden lace, flowing sleeves, and long silhouette feel romantic and bold at once. I love seeing this much color carried all the way through a look. The texture keeps it interesting without needing much else.
Look 2 | Fall Romance, Beautifully Layered
Who said your romantic pieces have to retire after summer? The floral ruffles flowing over those wide-leg camel trousers are such a beautiful styling move. Add the plush stole and bold pendant, and the softness has presence. This fall, I’m taking notes on wearing a flowing dress over trousers; the movement alone deserves a moment.
Look 3 | A walking work of art
The colors, mixed motifs, and diagonal draping make this look impossible to overlook. My eye keeps finding another detail. For anyone creating fashion content, this gives you a different moment from every angle.
Look 4 | Denim With Drama
This is the kind of denim moment I’m here for! The scarf prints, cascading fabric, and wrap detail at the hip bring so much movement to those flared jeans. Add a glimpse of skin and statement earrings, and casual dressing becomes absolutely Wear To Stare. Let your denim be the foundation and your top make the entrance.
Look 1 | Leather With a Softer Side
Now this is a leather moment! The rich chocolate tone, draped neckline, and gathered waist bring femininity to such a strong look. I love how the fabric wraps around the body while the shoulders hold their shape. For fall, give your leather some movement; this silhouette is absolutely Wear To Stare.
Look 2 | Put a Bow on It
That oversized black bow has my attention! Cinching the plush camel jacket gives all that volume a beautiful shape, while the black lace adds a sensual detail below. And those mustard gloves? The perfect finishing touch. This is your reminder to make styling your outerwear part of the outfit.
Look 3 | Ivory After Summer? Absolutely.
The strong blazer, sheer lace, and exposed lingerie details make this ivory look feel bold and unapologetically feminine. I love that Zimmermann carried one color through so many textures. Take this into fall: pair your delicate pieces with sharp tailoring and let both have their moment.
Look 4 | Burgundy, From Knit to Lace
This is how I want to see a cozy sweater styled! The substantial knit against that sheer, flowing lace gives us comfort, femininity, and sex appeal in one look. The curved hem reveals just enough of the detail underneath. Burgundy already feels rich; wearing it through different textures makes it even more captivating.
Make the Moment Your Own
What I love most is how much inspiration this collection gives us to play with. Try a richer color combination. Put a tailored jacket over lace. Add texture around the shoulders. Let a print move with you.
For me, a Wear To Stare moment begins when the styling brings your confidence into physical form. Zimmermann’s Fall 2026 collection gives us plenty of ways to do exactly that.
Which look are you wearing, and where are we going?
